COMM 1109 Human Communication

Introduction to the fundamental components of the hu-man communication process. The course provides a basic history of the communication discipline from ancient rhe-torical roots through modern social sciences. The course emphasizes selected methods and practices in dyadic, small group, and oral presentational settings. Course content also covers communication models, as well as a survey of a variety of human communication modes and methods, including verbal, nonverbal, small group, in-terpersonal, mass, organizational, public, and intercul-tural communication.
