Verification
Students who complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid may be selected for verification by the processor. If selected, the student must provide documentation that certain items of the SAR or ISIR are accurate.
Documentation may include (but is not limited to):
- Appropriate Verification Worksheet(s)
- Student, spouse, and/or parent verification of non-tax filers status
- Student, spouse, and/or parent IRS issued tax return transcript
- W-2’s of student, spouse, or parent
- Student’s Social Security Card
- Copy of divorce or separation document
- Other documents that provide proof of income or asset value
- Identity and Statement of Educational Purpose
- Birth Certificate
A student’s application that is chosen for verification will be placed in a pending status and will receive no further processing until all requested materials have been received.
